Rimmel Fix and Perfect Foundation Primer
I was kind of skeptical when i saw the color of this primer - it is a orangey pink color, like a dark salmon color. But - the color blends right in. This primer was great for oil control and my skin was a lot less oily at the end of the day (only my nose was kind of shiny, but oil blotting papers take care of that). It did not break me out, and it was a great primer for its price. This sells for around 6$ and it works wonderfully. It does minimize the look of pores, not much but a little. The thing I liked the best was the oil control, because that is a big issue for me. It did help my makeup go on smoother, which was a definite plus. I will definitely be buying this product again. and i hope that you will try it. There arent many drugstore primers here in Hawaii, but this one was a good choice. hmm what else.. oo! the scent is kind of light but a bit perfumey; however, it isnt a problem. This primer worked almost as well as the Benefit PoreFessional primer - which i LOVE. (see review). I think this primer can be used as an alternative to department store primers, since primers can be very pricey. Honestly, I feel that no primer is going to get rid of ALL the oil on your face and they will only IMPROVE the way your makeup stays on and keep your skin less oily. So, I would say that if you are short on $$ go for this primer.
Benefit PoreFessional Foundation Primer
<---- So this is the color of the primer, just to show you. It is not clear like most primers. However, this primer was SOO smooth and so good! It costs $28 at Sephora or Benefit counters but is totally worth it in my opinion. This is way less than most primers cost. Most liquid foundations leave my skin oily by the end of the day but this primer really covered up my large pores, controlled oil, and made my makeup sooo much smoother to apply. I LOVE this and i definately say that this is worth the splurge. This primer is much much better than Sephora or Smashbox primer, which I felt did nothing for me, and were hard to apply. This primer went on SOOO smoothly and left my skin feeling great. BUY THIS!! If you are looking to splurge on a primer, this is the one to go for. It comes in a tube of 0.75oz of primer. lovelovelove<321
Smashbox Primer - oil free $36
So i mentioned this primer in the previous review, and I think it is kind of obvious that I dont really like it. This primer gave my skin a really silky texture and it IS cool when you apply it on your arm. However, i found that since it immediately has this powdery silky feel, it is hard to spread onto your face and you end up using way too much of it, and it is hard to tell where the product is applied to. I wasnt too crazy about this primer.. I havent used it long enough to tell if it has oil contol, but it didnt break me out ( :] ? ) (a plus?) haha, anyway, this thing cost $36, which is a LOT for a primer, especially when you need to use so much of it each time you apply makeup - or not use a lot and not be sure if it is even on your face haha). idk, you may disagree with me but i feel that this primer did nothing for my makeup so I dont recommend spending this much on a primer that wont do anything for your skin.
